New Landcare coordinators in K2W region

6 new part time Landcare coordinator positions have been funded under the NSW Government’s 2015-2019 Landcare Support Program in the Kanangra Boyd to Wyangala (K2W) region, with a further 60 positions across the state.

The new coordinators include; Ruth Aveyard for Upper Lachlan Landcare (based in Goulburn); Michelle Barton for Goulburn and Yass region (based in Goulburn); Helen Ward for Gunning Landcare (based in Gunning); Linda Cavenagh for Boorowa Community Landcare (based in Boorowa); Tracey Burke for Mid Lachlan Landcare (based in Cowra); Marita Sydes for Central Tablands Landcare (based in Orange); and a new position for Lithgow/Oberon yet to be filled with Trish Kidd as current contact (based in Lithgow).

Landcare groups have flourished in the K2W region since the program began with new groups starting up around Neville and Grabine/Foggs Crossing  and other groups coming out of hibernation such as the Peelwood/Limerick/Tuena group. “The new coordinator program will be a great boost to these volunteer networks to help them continue the great work that they are doing in the region”  says Mary Bonet, K2W’s partnership Facilitator.

The new coordinators joined the 60 other new recruits at a  Local Landcare Coordinator Initiative Induction and Workshop held in Stockton, Newcastle designed to induct the newly appointed local Landcare coordinators and outline the role they will play in their communities.

The new coordinators can be contacted by the Regional Landcare Facilators- Liz Davis for Central Tablelands email: and Peter Pigott for South East email:
