Despite the steaming temperatures we had a steady stream of visitors coming to learn more about Landcare in the Upper Lachlan Shire, Tussock Tamers and our new partnerships with Great Eastern Ranges Initiative and Land For Wildlife.

Throughout the weekend there were presentations from guest speakers including South East LLS Pastures Officer, Fiona Leech who spoke  about alternative fertilisers.

photo 1 Fiona has been running a native pasture research trial in the Binalong/Bookham district for the past five years to independently assess how various fertilisers stack-up against single-superphosphate, with regards to pasture production and cost effectiveness;

NSW DPI Technical Specialist Livestock Systems, Phil Graham who gave an update on the  district’s seasonal conditions and arising issues of livestock and pasture management, and well known local producer Gary Kadwell gave a presentation on the importance or working together as a group through lessons learnt from the Crookwell Potato Growers Association.
